Joe Colon brings valuable multi-location sales and management experience to Protection 1 as Vice President of National Accounts
LAWRENCE, Kan., Aug. 2, 2010 – Protection 1, the second-largest electronic security company in the United States, announced today that Joe Colon, who has 18 years of experience in electronic security sales and operations, has been named the company’s new vice president of national accounts.
Colon comes to Protection 1 from ADT Security Services, where he spent nearly two decades overseeing the sales growth of national account clients, who have specific needs related to monitoring multiple sites with centralized management. He most recently served as director of national accounts for the Southeast region with ADT, and will continue to oversee national accounts in his new role with Protection 1 at the vice president level.
During his tenure at ADT, Colon’s aptitude for sales and customer service led to multiple fast-tracked promotions. Early in his career, Colon was recognized as the top sales rep in his division before being promoted to residential district sales manager. In that position, Colon led a 48th-ranked office to first place in sales. Colon’s peers awarded him the company’s General Manager Leadership Award.

Colon lives in Jacksonville, Fla., with his wife of 18 years, Michelle, and their two children. An active member of his community, Colon volunteers for and is a leading supporter of The Hubbard House, a shelter for victims of domestic violence.
