The Situation: Searching for a Cost-Effective Security Upgrade
This national casual dining steakhouse treats customers to great food along with a classic roadhouse experience. They also take great pains to ensure their guests can enjoy themselves in a safe and secure environment.
When the contract for intrusion detection and life safety systems monitoring was about to expire, their senior director of risk management decided that it might be time for a change. His end goal was a security solution provider who could deliver the latest technology along with outstanding service and support across all of his locations. It was also imperative the new provider help them realize additional operational savings by streamlining systems administration time while decreasing operating costs across daily activities.
The Solution: Best-in-Class Technology and Personalized Service
They looked us over and liked the fact that our menu included the latest technology along with a high level of personalized service. Protection 1 was then awarded the contract to convert all of their intrusion detection and life safety systems across the restaurant’s considerable national footprint—and the conversion was completed in just a few months.
The design, installation and conversion of their new intrusion and life safety systems was handled by the Protection 1 National Account Operations Center (NAOC) in Irving, TX.
The center is dedicated to the support of large enterprise customers. As part of the new life safety system, Protection 1 proposed a TelGuard TG-7FS Commercial Fire Alarm Communicator, which is NFPA and UL-approved for use as a sole path signaling device for communications between the central station and the fire alarm panel. In most cases, the deployment of this type of device can eliminate the need for backup communication devices such as telephone lines—reducing monthly operating costs.
In addition to the design and implementation work that is done through the NAOC, Protection 1 also enrolled this customer in the 1Touch Pod program. Each 1Touch Pod is a dedicated team of four to five people who are assigned to support a specific account, with one individual taking point for all activities.
This group of people is responsible and accountable for all aspects of the customer’s interaction with Protection 1. This includes account management, order entry, installation, service delivery, monitoring and billing. The team monitors the account every day to ensure the systems are working at peak performance. They also identify trends that could potentially turn into problems down the road, making an early intervention possible.
Our national steakhouse also uses the Protection 1 eSuiteSM platform with an alarm data, analytics and reporting package to further streamline the administration of their systems. This combination of a 1Touch Pod Team and eSuite makes working with Protection 1 a seamless process—they kind of go together like a juicy steak and fries!
